A group show at Alliance Francaise in Karachi exhibited the works of Abdul Jabbar, Arif Ansari, Khusro Subzwari, Shan Raza Amrohvi, and SM Naqvi.
Abdul Jabbar is a talented and passionate artist whose work focuses on the essence of life, emotion, and contrast. His paintings revolve around complex realities of society and human emotions. He is well-known for his boat paintings. The artist wonderfully captures the sorrow of abandoned and broken-down boats waiting in vain for their sailors to return.
Arif Ansari is known for his evocative portrayal of nature. His work is a harmonious blend of colour, texture, and light. His work is mesmerising and encourages viewers to contemplate and reflect.
Khusro Subzwari, a self-taught artist, is deeply inspired by Sufism. He is known for his whirling dervishes, a theme based on Mevlana Rumi’s verses. His work is an embodiment of inspiration that is derived from Rumi’s poetry on spirituality and love.
SM Naqvi finds inspiration everywhere – in thoughts, emotions, experiences, and adventures. “I believe beauty is a necessity of life and a way to experience a sense of eternity. The intense colours and bold strokes are stories and tales of fantasy as well as reality. My intent is to make art that stirs the soul and connects us not only to the beauty of the human experience but also to what lies beyond our sight.”
A wonderful collection of art brought together by some of Pakistan’s most talented and skilled artists.
