A group show at O Art Space in Lahore exhibited the works of Aakif Suri, Ali Azmat, Atif Khan, Hira Mansur, Mughees Riaz, Shiblee Muneer, and Yaseen Khan among several other artists.
Aakif Suri’s practice is focused around drawing, painting, collage, and sculpture. He makes use of several different mediums such as wood, animal skin, metal, and a range of traditional and new media. It is through his training in miniature art that he is able to achieve such precision, attention to detail, and a refined approach—infusing diverse textures and techniques to create a high level of visual engagement with his viewers.
Babar Gull’s distinctive practice blends minimalist abstraction and a unique fusion of sculpture, painting, and architecture. His visual vocabulary draws inspiration from landscapes, juxtaposing modernist forms with geometric patterns rooted in traditional art and architecture.
Hira Mansur specialises in watercolours and gouache. She carefully and seamlessly builds layers upon layers to create hyper-realistic pieces, exploring her personal history as an adopted child. Her pieces are personal and full of emotion, drawing viewers in immediately.
Each artist brings something different and unique to the exhibition with their personal artistic style. It reflects their talent, technique, and skill, but what ties all these pieces together is the shared love and passion all of them have for creating authentic and impactful art.
